You all may have read the 1-2-3 punch in the Letters to the Editor section of 'The Express-Times' this morning. All three letters (from Councilman Mike Savary, Carol Schwar & Louis Cartabona) came from members of 'The Savary Team'. You know, the same Mike Savary that told voters that he was against medical benefits for elected officials in order to get elected and then took them himself after he was sworn in and the same Mike Savary that embarrassed Alpha with 'curb-gate'. He now wants Alpha voters to elect his cronies to council so that he can control three votes - half of the votes on council! Don't be fooled! Craig Dunwell and Chris Pfefferle are NOT going to represent your interests, they are going to support Mike Savary and his selfish agenda. Their Karl Rove-style politics of scaring the residents has gone too far. They are claiming our water is unsafe and that the treatment option we have chosen to move forward with is too expensive. Alpha's water is safe and council is moving forward with a treatment plant to replace an antiquated one so that we can continue to provide safe and clean drinking water for many years to come. How much is continued clean water worth to you?
'The Savary Team' claims in their campaign literature that "This Council is out of touch and out of control." in regards to our expense control. Really? Last time I checked, Alpha had over a million dollars in surplus and we have a better bond rating because of our low debt. Do you really expect the truth from 'The Savary Team'? After all, they've lied before and they can't handle the truth!
Did you know that Craig Dunwell practically endorsed his opponent, Councilman John Hajdu? Yes, it's true!

**So, at tonight's Council Meeting, 25 Cent applauded Councilman John Hajdu for announcing that he was giving up his 'in-lieu-of' medical benefits payments. He went on to state that he hopes that the other two Councilmen that take those payments consider the same action, but ONCE AGAIN, failed to mention Councilman Michael Savary, who has signed up to take the actual medical benefits that cost twice the amount of those payments.
